World-class STEM Courseware from MIT to Boston Public Schools
Tomorrow’s job landscape will not look like today’s! As educators, it is our job to provide students with the educational technology and career skills these new jobs will require. Project based, hands-on STEM education will be key and, to be most effective, these classes must be tied to tomorrow’s technologies.
Autonomous vehicles will be a major factor in the future economy, driving transformations that are just beginning but will impact virtually every industry. Some of today’s jobs will disappear, but new ones will be created. The MIT Beaver Works Summer Institute (BWSI) developed hands-on courseware for high school students, so they can understand, and work with, autonomous vehicle technology. In 2020, that world-class courseware was adapted and Cardinal Works courseware is now offered at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School (TVHS) in Boston. We want educators everywhere to be aware of this future-focused opportunity, so they can bring it to their schools.

Rapid Autonomous Mobility Pilot Project
The technology behind autonomous vehicles continues to improve with test vehicles on the road in cities around the world. Consumers, residents, governments, associations, manufacturers, and insurers are engaged in a conversation about how to introduce automated technology in ways that balance personal freedom, safety, innovation, employment, public investment and collective responsibility.
Pilot projects bring automation technology into our cities and communities where everyday citizens and industry players can begin to understand the potential benefits and trade-offs of deploying driverless vehicles on a widespread basis. Pilots give people a chance to see the vehicles in action and ask tough questions. It provides researchers, manufacturers and solution providers with an opportunity to forge alliances and test their technology in real-world settings. It also provides local, state and federal officials with information critical to forming sound public policy.
TSC provides leadership and support for Boston-area urban mobility pilot projects that work toward the long-term goals of mitigating climate change and reducing urban traffic. We call this initiative the Rapid Autonomous Mobility Pilot Project (RAMPP) and are proud to lend our support to the projects below.

We are working with Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, a public high school located in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, to implement an academic curriculum focused on providing students with the background and skills that will help them pursue careers in the autonomous vehicle and automation industries. Students will engage in a variety of coursework including topics in programming, computer science, and design.

Autonomous Vehicle Summit 2017
TSC organized the Autonomous Vehicle Summit, sponsored by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) New England, the first autonomous vehicle summit in the Boston area. The Summit took place March 2, 2017, and received participation from industry leaders including Draper, Boston Consulting Group and Harmonic Drive. The conference included speakers from industry, government, and technology provided attendees with content related to autonomous vehicle technology, policy, and urban planning.
